Calculator⁷ (formerly Resolve) keeps a history of calculations on iPhone. History helps when you need to check how you reached a total, compare two estimates or recover a number you calculated earlier. It is most useful when the app records the expression as well as the result, so you can spot an incorrect input.
Review a previous result
Open the history view after completing a calculation and find the expression you want to check. Read the numbers and operators, not just the final total. For example, if an invoice calculation used 24 × 3 + 18, a wrong quantity or price changes the meaning of the result even when the arithmetic is correct.
To run a corrected calculation, enter or edit the expression in the calculator. Results update as you type, and undo and delete controls help you correct mistakes. This is quicker than rebuilding a long expression from scratch.
When history is useful
- Shopping or bills: Compare prices, quantities and taxes you calculated at different times.
- Project estimates: Recheck a previous subtotal before changing an input.
- Study: See the expression behind an answer and identify a mistaken operator.
History is a convenience, not a permanent accounting record. Save important figures in the document where they belong and verify them before making a payment or other consequential decision.
