An ISO image is a sector-by-sector disc image, not a ZIP archive. Fileso can read supported ISO 9660 and UDF file-system layouts and show their files as an extractable tree. Some discs use both standards; the visible names can differ from a basic ISO 9660 listing.
Extract .iso in Fileso
- Copy the complete image to a local location Fileso can access and check that enough storage remains for the extracted files.
- Tap it and choose View to browse a temporary extraction. A large image may take time to prepare.
- Choose Extract to Folder when you need a lasting copy in a separate destination, then wait for the task to finish.
- Open a few resulting files and preserve the original image if you may need its full disk structure later.
Check the image size before importing it and leave space for extracted contents. Use View to locate the needed directory, or Extract to Folder to keep all files together. An operating-system installer ISO can be inspected as files but cannot boot iPhone.
If extraction fails
A corrupt image, unsupported disc extension or copy-protection scheme may prevent reading. If names look shortened, the disc may depend on an extension outside the basic ISO view. Obtain the original image rather than changing its extension.
Common question
Can Fileso mount an ISO as a running disc? No. The app reads supported file systems for browsing and extraction; it does not boot or run the disc.
