How to Extract RAR Files on iPhone

Open .rar archives in Fileso on iPhone, handle supported encrypted files and keep all parts of a multi-volume archive together.

RAR packages can contain several files, an optional password, and multiple numbered volumes. Fileso’s archive library recognizes RAR4 and RAR5 containers. The particular compression filters and header-encryption variant still matter, so a valid .rar suffix is not a universal guarantee.

Extract .rar in Fileso

  1. Save the complete archive somewhere Fileso can access. Keep all volumes together if the sender supplied several files.
  2. Tap the archive and choose View for a temporary extracted preview. To keep the result, choose Extract beside the original or Extract to Folder for another destination.
  3. Enter the original password if requested. Wait for the extraction task to finish before opening the destination.
  4. Check the folder tree and open a few files, including one near the end of a large archive, before removing the source.

For name.part1.rar, keep the later parts in the same folder and open the first part. Older sets may use name.rar followed by .r00 and .r01; keep those files together too. Enter the password when prompted, then check both the first and last extracted files.

If extraction fails

If extraction stops early, verify that no volume is missing and that all parts share the same base name. A wrong password and a damaged volume can produce similar symptoms. Ask the sender for the complete set rather than renaming a single part.

Common question

Can I extract a RAR archive with only the first part? No. A multi-volume archive needs every part required by its contents.
