How to Join and Extract .001 and .002 Split Files on iPhone

Reassemble .001 and .002 file parts in Fileso and extract the archive or original file they contain.

Numbered files such as video.mp4.001 and video.mp4.002 are parts of one byte stream, not independent archives. Fileso finds the matching sequence, rebuilds it, and opens an inner supported archive when one exists. For an unknown payload, the reconstructed file is the useful output.

Extract .001, .002 in Fileso

  1. Put every numbered part, beginning with .001, in the same local folder. Keep their common filename stem unchanged.
  2. Tap a numbered part in Fileso. The archive library finds the available chain and reconstructs the logical byte stream.
  3. Choose View for a temporary result, or Extract to Folder for a lasting copy in a chosen destination.
  4. Confirm that the reconstructed file or inner archive has the expected size and contents before deleting any part.

Move every part into the same local folder without changing its common basename. Open a numbered part after the set is complete, then verify the size and type of the reconstructed result. A 7z set may have a name such as archive.7z.001.

If extraction fails

A missing middle part or a gap in numbering makes the reconstructed stream incomplete. Confirm that 001 begins the set and that each subsequent part is present. Re-downloading only the final part rarely fixes a missing earlier segment.

Common question

Can I extract .002 by itself? No. It is normally a continuation of the stream beginning with .001.
