An APK is usually a ZIP-based Android application package. XAPK bundles can also use a ZIP-like container and may include extra resources. Fileso can list and extract supported ZIP entries so you can inspect assets, manifests and packaged media.
Extract .apk, .xapk in Fileso
- Save the complete package in Fileso, then tap it and choose View to inspect a temporary extraction.
- Find the assets or metadata you need. Preserve their relative paths when the package has a structured directory tree.
- Choose Extract for a lasting copy beside the package, or Extract to Folder to place it elsewhere.
- Verify the files you need. Extraction makes the contents available for inspection; it does not run or install the packaged software.
Use View to locate the files you need, then extract into a dedicated folder. Android resource files may be encoded or compiled, so a text viewer will not make every manifest or binary resource human-readable.
If extraction fails
Some XAPK downloads use a different layout or ZIP compression method. If the listing is incomplete or extraction fails, verify the package from its original source. Do not rename the package to .ipa: Android and iOS apps are different formats.
Common question
Can Fileso install an APK on iPhone? No. It can inspect supported package contents, but iOS cannot run an Android APK through extraction.
