A Live Photo contains a still image and a short paired video. Fileso imports those parts together; to make a GIF, convert the paired video, not the Live Photo folder itself. This preserves the original photo and motion clip while creating a separate animated file.
Convert the motion clip
- Import the Live Photo from Photos into Fileso.
- Open the imported Live Photo folder and find its video file beside the still image.
- Open the video’s More actions and choose Convert to GIF.
- Open the new GIF and check its motion, size and quality before sharing it.
If you cannot find a video inside the imported item, the source may have been exported as a still photo rather than a Live Photo. Reimport the original from Photos and verify that it includes motion.
What changes in GIF format?
GIF is widely readable, but it does not retain the original Live Photo format, audio or full video quality. It can also be larger than a short compressed video. Keep the original Live Photo when image quality or later editing matters.
