Preview a Lottie JSON Animation on iPhone with Fileso

Open a Lottie animation JSON file in Fileso, preview its motion and convert supported animations to GIF when needed.

1 min read

Fileso can preview a Lottie animation stored as JSON on iPhone or iPad. Lottie uses vector shapes and animation instructions, which makes it different from a video or GIF. If Fileso recognizes the JSON as a Lottie file, opening it shows the animation rather than only raw text.

Preview the animation

  1. Save the Lottie .json file to Fileso.
  2. Tap it and check that the animation plays in the preview.
  3. If you need a format for an app that does not support Lottie, open the file’s More actions and choose Convert to GIF.

Fileso only offers that conversion action when it recognizes the JSON as a Lottie animation. A regular JSON data file will not become an animation by changing its extension.

What should you check?

Compare the preview with the original animation, especially if it uses external images, fonts or effects. A GIF export is rasterized and may have different size or color behavior from the vector source. Keep the Lottie JSON if you need to edit or reuse the animation later.
